KEYNOTE: The Global Economic & Geopolitical Outlook: What are the Opportunities & Risks Ahead?

For the first time in a decade, we have a broad based global economic recovery. Consumers and businesses around the world are ramping up spending and this will accelerate new orders for manufacturers. But which countries will be the leaders and laggards in this economic upswing and how will it impact inflation, interest rates, and currencies? At the same time, waves of new disruptive technologies are reshaping how we conduct business. Online shopping has revolutionized retail and B-to-B sales. Payments systems have evolved from simple cash to hi-tech credit cards, cell phones swipes, and now moving toward direct peer-to-peer transactions based on blockchain technology. Yet hovering menacingly over all is the harsh reality that economic and geopolitical shocks will also become more frequent in the future. Which of these major threats are most likely to erupt in the next 12 to 24 months and what would be the consequences for the global economy?
